Travel around Helsinki by Tram
One way to spend the summery excursion day is to take adventure around Helsinki by tram. Tram number 2 is regarded as the sightseeing tram in Helsinki, a way to travel around among the locals. It is not, however, the only route that offers lots of interesting things to see and do along the way. For all those interested in architecture, tram number 4 can especially be recommended. Everyone interested in design, art and culinary culture should hop on tram number 6.
All the routes presented here start from the south and head to different directions. It is recommended to carry along a public transportation route map to help you locate all the stops and sights. The best way to explore Helsinki by tram is to purchase a day-ticket that covers all public transportation in the city. Day-ticket can be purchased from official tourist information points on Pohjoisesplanadi 19 and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (Terminal 2A) as well as several other selling points. Tram routes are also included in the Helsinki Card.
You can find more information about public transportation tickets and fares from here.
